It was one of the most moving inaugurations I've seen.

I think he did very well, in spite of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court not being able to read a 40-word oath without fucking it up. (Could it be because the President voted against his appointment to the highest court in the land?)

The quartet was a nice surprise. Ma seemed to be really enjoying himself. What was that thing on Aretha's head though? It looked like she took that bow off her door when Christmas was over and stuck it on a pillbox hat.

As for the First Lady, Death, if that's how you feel, simply refuse to fuck her. I'm sure she'll get over it.

I was telling everyone at work it was such a scam, and how this Chicago politician (the most corrupt city in America) has it comfortable since any future fuck ups will be forgiven. The media will view it as the residual crap from the last regime. So far I haven't heard much criticism from the media over this man when typically, even before becoming president, folks in the media take jabs, which is what I predicted. The dude has it made.

I watched it and even had tears in my eyes. I thought his speech was very good. It wasn't the best speech I heard, but it was very good and know I wasn't the only one who was moved with joy.

I know Death that you are not the only one with your feelings either. On talk radio this morning Bruce Jacobs was calling it Black Tuesday. Republicans were mourning.

You're right, American; it wasn't Obama's best speech. But today wasn't about what Americans heard-- it was about what they saw. A black hand on Lincoln's inaugural Bible spoke much more eloquently about how far your country has come in the forty-odd years that have passed since Dr. King made his "I have a dream" speech on the opposite end of The Mall than anything he might have said.
